Will Netflix Pick Up the Second Season of “Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities”?

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities was one of the most-anticipated Halloween movies on Netflix in 2022. It gave us a week of scary fun. But the most important thing is, will Cabinet of Curiosities be back for a second season on Netflix? We haven’t heard anything yet, but we’re hopeful that we will soon.

The horror shows that Netflix made on its own have been the most popular. But sometimes there hasn’t been nearly enough scary stuff around Halloween. Cabinet of Curiosities by Guillermo del Toro was the much-needed dose of horror that the scary season needed.

This is one of the best horror anthologies we’ve seen on Netflix since Love, Death, and Robots. The fact that each episode was directed by a different person made each one fun and scary in its own way.

Has Cabinet of Curiosities by Guillermo Del Toro Been Picked Up by Netflix?

At the time of writing, Guillermo del Toro’s Horror anthology has not been picked up for a second season by Netflix. It could be a few weeks or a few months before Netflix tells us what will happen with the show.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2

We are waiting for the first hourly top ten data to come in so we can see how well the show did in its first week on Netflix. But it will take a few more weeks for us to see how the series did as a whole before we can decide if Netflix is likely to keep it or not.

Should Cabinet of Curiosities Be Renewed by Netflix?

Cabinet of Curiosities could have been a limited series if it had been a collection of short stories. But considering how popular the animated anthology series Love, Death, and Robots has been, we shouldn’t be surprised that Netflix wouldn’t want to limit the show’s potential by ending it after just one season.

Since Cabinet of Curiosities wasn’t listed as a limited series, it left the door open for it to be renewed. But if Netflix decided not to renew, they could close that door quietly and without much fuss because the show is an anthology.

Should Netflix keep going? Definitely. Which episodes people liked more than others is totally up to them, but that’s what makes an anthology fun.

Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities Season 2

There are thousands, if not tens of thousands, of short horror stories that could be turned into movies, so Guillermo del Toro and the directors he chooses will have a hard time deciding which ones to use.

Would Guillermo Del Toro Want to Make a Second Season?

Guillermo del Toro hasn’t said anything about what will happen to his series of short stories. If the director of Pan’s Labyrinth has plans for a second season, we might not hear anything for a few months because he is so busy.

Del Toro has been working on an animated stop-motion version of Pinnochio for Netflix. He is also helping to write and make the second movie in the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark series.

He has also been linked to a western about werewolves that doesn’t have a name yet. And finally, he will be in charge of an upcoming documentary about Michael Mann that doesn’t yet have a name.

Let’s just say that Guillermo del Toro has a lot on his plate.
