Barbara Walters was born in Boston in 1929. She was one of the first people to work in the field of broadcast journalism. She was the first woman to co-host a morning news show (The Today Show, in 1974) and an evening news show (ABC Evening News, in 1976). She also created The View, which was a very popular daytime talk show on ABC that she hosted for more than 15 years.
She is also famous for her famous interviews with famous people and her ability to make some of the most famous people in the world cry. But, in 2022, where is Barbara Walters? Here are some details about her life and health after she retired.
Walters Can Spend More Time With His Family Now That She is Retired.
Even though she’s best known for her famous job, Walters is much more than just a journalist. She was married to three different men four times. She has a loved daughter with her second husband. Her name is Jacqueline Dena Guber.
Even though she has never been married for long, being a mother is very important to her. She told ABC News just before she retired that not spending more time with her daughter was one of the things she regretted the most.
Walters finally quit her job in 2014, when she was 85 years old and still working on The View. She had been in the business for 60 years. She can spend more time with her child now that she has given up her career. We’re sure that she’s making the most of this chance.
Walters will also have a little more free time now that he is retired. In her interview with ABC News, she said that on her first day of retirement she was going to “lounge in bed until 3 in the afternoon.” “I have always been on time.
I’ve always been on time. She said, “I’ve always had things to do.” “It will be nice to wake up and ask, ‘What do I have to do today?’ Nothing!’” She has worked so hard for so long that she has every right to take it easy for a while.
Retirement Doesn’t Mean She’s Stepping Away From Public Life Completely.
Walters isn’t out of the public eye for good just because she’s retired. She has kept taking on projects she’s interested in.
In 2014 and 2015, Walters kept her job as host of the 10 Most Fascinating People series. In 2015, she was the host of a documentary series on Investigation Discovery called American Scandals.

In 2014 and 2015, 20/20 brought her back for special episodes with Donald and Melania Trump and other special guests. In December 2015, she did her last interview on air with Donald Trump, who was running for president at the time.
She has also used her time off to help other people in the community. She gave $15 million to Sarah Lawrence College, where she went to school, so that they could build the Barbara Walters Campus Center. The center opened in 2019. It has a fine art gallery and a reading room with the Barbara Walters archives.
Walters has also gotten praise in her retirement that she deserves. In October 2014, “A Conversation With Barbara Walters,” a show on PBS, was used to honor her by the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School. David Gergen, who is a co-director of the Center for Public Leadership, invited her to talk about her work as a journalist and her best interviews.
Barbara Walters’ Health
Walters is in her golden years, but she still has to deal with some of the problems that come with getting older. Even before she retired, she began to worry about her health. She had open-heart surgery in 2010 to fix her broken aortic valve. The surgery went well, and Walters was back at work on The View as soon as he was healthy again.
But since she retired, Walters has had problems that older people often have. Some news stories say that the 93-year-old has been diagnosed with dementia and has become much less smart in the last few years. But neither Walters nor anyone who works for her has confirmed the claims.

We can’t be sure, but it seems likely that Walter’s daughter is with her mother. In an Oprah’s Master Class interview in 2014, the 20/20 star said:
“Recently, my daughter told me, ‘Mom, if you get Alzheimer’s, you can come live with me. Not if you have Alzheimer’s, but when you have Alzheimer’s, Mom. I think that’s a very sweet thing to say.”
We’re so happy that her daughter is there for her no matter what. We hope they stay together for a long time.
