In a vehicle accident barely three months before the birth of Bill Clinton, he was killed in the line of duty as a traveling salesman.

President John F. Kennedy met with Clinton in July 1963, and the two exchanged handshakes.

Clinton traces his political aspirations, which he attributes in part to his maternal grandmother, to his meeting with Kennedy.

Clinton began his studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., in 1964 and graduated with a degree in international studies in 1968.
