The makers of Love Is Blind have a new dating programme on Netflix called The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On. Six couples entered the show, each with a partner who was given the choice to get married or leave. There’s a catch, though. On the show, couples date different people to decide whether they are ready to get married or not.
The cast of The Ultimatum reunited for a season one reunion to discuss which relationships endured beyond the season finale. As couples looked back on their experiences, there was a lot to unpack during the reunion. The majority of the couples from The Ultimatum remained together throughout the tumultuous season.
Which Couples From the Ultimatum Are Still Together?
Alexis Maloney and Hunter Parr
Hunter received a dire ultimatum from Alexis at the start of the first season. He wasn’t sure if he was prepared to take that step, but she wanted to leave with a ring on her finger. Alexis then began establishing connections with a few of the other males during speed dating.
But Hunter decided he couldn’t wait any longer at a meal with hosts Nick and Vanessa. On the spot, he proposed to Alexis, and she said yes in a genuinely adorable exchange.
Right now, Alexis and Hunter are happily engaged and residing together in Los Angeles, California. As for their impending nuptials, Hunter told Women’s Health, “We’re getting married this summer.”
Since I was about five years old, I’ve always wanted to get married here in Los Angeles, said Alexis. It’s kind of like a dream come true because I used to pass this chapel on the way to work.
It wasn’t easy for the couple to live together at first, but they now claim they enjoy each other’s company. It’s been so much fun to just cook together every night, work exercise together, and organise our schedules together, Alexis said. “I guess the beginning was a little bit like, okay growing pains, but it’s been so great,” she said.
Both also assert that they have no regrets over what transpired on the episode. Hunter told WH, “I’ve been loving being engaged to Alexis and beginning our lives together. “Yeah. For that, a gold medal, “Alexis continued.
Greetings to the delighted couple!
Lauren Pounds and Nathan Ruggles
One significant difference stood between Lauren and Nathan’s desire to establish a family and their readiness to wed. One of the biggest rifts in their relationship had developed from the initial quarrel.
Lauren and Nathan discussed their problems with some of the other cast members during speed dating. Finally, Nathan made a proposal to Lauren at the dinner with Nick and Vanessa, following Hunter’s lead. She concurred (despite co-star Colby trying to talk her out of it).
So what is their current “ship status”? They are still going strong, these two. After leaving the performance with her, Nathan looked for a ring and got down on one knee once more in Austin, Texas’ Zilker Park. We had to do a small redo, Lauren said to Today.
The couple intends to wed in Breckinridge, Colorado, in October. They also claim that couples counselling has assisted them in resolving their conflicting ideas about starting a family.
“It helped us communicate more clearly. In the past, he frequently said, “I want you to understand my side,” to which I would respond, “No, I want you to understand my side.” We both kind of shut off throughout this extremely obstinate conversation, Lauren said.
Lauren and Nathan have made a compromise by deciding to try for just one child, as was indicated in the season 1 reunion. However, they are appreciative of their time on the programme. At the end of the day, I believe it made us realise how much we want each other and want to make things work, so I’m thankful for it, she added.
How Can I Watch The Ultimatum?
Netflix currently has the first eight episodes of season one accessible for viewing. On April 13, more episodes are anticipated to be released.
A second season of the show has already been given approval due to its popularity, and according to Variety, it will feature an all-queer cast.
