Has the animated Star Wars show Tales of the Jedi been picked up for a second season, and when might it come out around the world? With each new title, character, and story, the Star Wars universe keeps growing.

The Andor live-action series, which is still going on, is arguably the best Star Wars IP since The Mandalorian. The Star Wars universe is also growing in the world of animation. The new Tales of the Jedi series, which has six episodes, is a welcome and well-made addition to the franchise.

As of October 27, Tales of the Jedi has not been officially picked up for a second season. Fans can still hope that the animated anthology series will have more episodes, maybe even as soon as 2023. Here’s everything you need to know.

What is the Renewal Status for Tales of the Jedi Season 2?

Even though Tales of the Jedi hasn’t been officially picked up for a second season yet, there are signs that the animated show will keep going.

Fans’ and critics’ reactions are the first sign that Tales of the Jedi could come back. In the modern age of streaming services, shows only get the go-ahead to keep making them if they get enough viewers to make the cost of making them worth it.

Disney hasn’t said how many people streamed the animated series, but the good news is that, 24 hours after its release, Tales of the Jedi has gotten great reviews. On IMDB, it has a score of 8.6/10, and on Rotten Tomatoes, it has a score of 96%.

Tales of the Jedi Season 2

“No joke, I didn’t expect anything from this, and I left with my jaw on the ground, my eyes wide open, and tears in my eyes. This was Star Wars at its best. I won’t tell you what happens, but if you like Star Wars, you should drop everything and go watch this right now. – A review from a user on IMDB.

Even better, Disney and Lucasfilm have shown that they can work together to make more than one season of their animated Star Wars titles. Both The Bad Batch and Visions have been picked up for a second season, and Rebels, Resistance, and The Clone Wars are all getting more than one season.

Fans have spoken out on social media about how great it is that Tales of the Jedi isn’t limited by a timeline or a set group of characters. This is because there are a lot of Jedi that could be in future seasons, and there aren’t any set characters.

So I hope there will be a second season of Tales of the Jedi, but I really hope it won’t just be about Jedi from the prequel era. I think it would be awesome if episodes about Kanan, Luke, and Rey were all drawn in the style of Clone Wars. – A response from a fan on Twitter.

Lastly, veteran Star Wars director Dave Filoni is in charge of Tales of the Jedi. Disney likes to work with Filoni because he has made a lot of Star Wars movies. ScreenRant said, “These examples provide strong evidence that a second season of Tales of the Jedi is both possible and likely.”

“Tales of the Jedi is the BEST Star Wars from the last few years. It was so good, and the feelings were real. It was an amazing thing to see. I liked every episode, and I want there to be more. I’d like to read more stories like this one. Thank you Dave Filoni!” – A response from a fan on Twitter.

When Could the Second Season of Tales of the Jedi Come Out?

Filoni may have come up with the idea for Tales of the Jedi on his way to work on The Mandalorian, but the series wasn’t officially announced until April 2022.

With the premiere on October 26, the production cycle for Tales of the Jedi was about seven months, though pre-production probably started a few months before that.

Tales of the Jedi Season 2

Assuming that the next season of Tales of the Jedi will be made in the same way, fans could see it as early as June 2023.

“This week, Andor was good, but Tales of the Jedi was just… wow, I’m shocked. Peak Star Wars. I hope this gets a second season, maybe one that looks at some of the less well-known Jedi… Except Tera Sinube.” – A response from a fan on Twitter.

Fans should also know that the production team may be putting more effort into the next installment of Bad Batch, which could push the release date of Tales of the Jedi back to late summer 2023.

In either case, it seems likely that a second season of Tales of the Jedi will be ordered and that the show will return sometime in 2023, depending on whether or not the production team moves on to another show.
