The second season of Starz’s Power Book II will premiere on November 21st, 2021, as previously announced.
Ghost Season 1 Background Information From Power Book II
It’s hard for Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey, Jr.) to keep up with the craziness in his life. As for his mother, Tasha (Naturi Naughton), she is now on death row for the murder of her son’s father, James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Latif Hardwick). His mother Tasha blames Tariq for the death of his father Ghost even though Tariq was the one who really did it.
It doesn’t even matter that Tariq fired the gun. However, moms will go to any lengths to safeguard their children. As a result, Tariq is now forced to work as a janitor and go door-to-door in order to raise enough money to hire a defense attorney, Davis MacLean (Cliff ‘Method Man’ Smith).
Tariq follows in his father’s footsteps and becomes a drug dealer since there is no other option. Under the leadership of Monet Stewart Tejada, he clashes with the Tejada family (Mary J. Blige).
In order to pay his mother’s lawyer, Tariq agrees to work with Monet. He owes money to a third party. As a reward, he vows to keep Monet’s true identity a secret.
As Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) is in prison, Monet notifies him about the agreement. If this deal isn’t followed through on, severe repercussions will follow.
Tariq will have to surpass his father’s achievements in this regard. But maintaining secrets isn’t always simple. Jabari Reynolds (Justin Marcel McManus), one of Tariq’s teachers, finds that he is involved in drug trafficking and has ties to Monet’s son Dru Tejada (Lovell Adams-Gray).
He says he’ll pay you if you write about him. Woody McClain’s character, Cane Tejada, overhears and assumes Tariq is a rat. Cane is ready to murder Tariq, but Tariq persuades him to spare Jabari’s life.
In order to pay Monet, he now has the money from the narrative that was never published, but he is owned by them. After a series of events, Tariq is able to save his mother’s life, although at the cost of her being placed in witness protection.
To Tariq’s chagrin, she first accused his uncle Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) of being James’ murderer. However, she evaded Tommy’s attempts to kill her and was taken into custody.
Tariq came up with a scheme to fake Tommy’s death by orchestrating a vehicle accident in order to put matters to rest. However, he still attempted to assassinate Tariq, despite the fact that the FBI was unable to locate him.
And if it hadn’t been for Monet threatening to blow his brains out, he never would have stopped. Unlike his father, Tariq seemed to have lost all hope of leading a lawful life.
Monet has enough dirt on Tariq to keep him at distance, and he’s earning her money. A major plot point in Power Book II: Ghost Season 2 will revolve around Tariq’s effort to lead an ordinary life.
Potential Storylines for Ghost Season 2 in Power Book II
This season, Tariq will have to deal with various difficulties. As an initial point of clarification, just because Tommy has left doesn’t imply he won’t come back again. Regardless of what Monet did, he still has a score to pay with Tariq and his mother.
First and foremost, how would Tariq go about living his daily routine as a regular human being? If he doesn’t do the unthinkable, that may seem to be an impossibility. He has to get rid of Monet permanently if he wants to be free of her. Isn’t it suicidal to eliminate the most dangerous families in the area?
Berto’s presence has made that possibility much more challenging. Monet’s business must always come first for him, according to TV Line; his family must always come first.
A statement from the creators reads, “Lorenzo gets fascinated by certain secrets Monet has been concealing from him—and a struggle arises that threatens to break the Tejada family in two.”
What’s more, is this the final time we see Tasha before she disappears? She’s been placed in witness protection, and it doesn’t seem like she’ll be coming out anytime soon. Tommy is on the hunt for her. Finally, how will Tariq deal with the fact that he is a skilled assassin?
We may anticipate massive ramifications as a result of his killing of professor Jabari. There will be a lot of reaction on campus since Tariq has done a major murder,” the show’s creator, Courtney Kemp, said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this year. Tariq, on the other hand, feels like he’s on a timer. When things grow hard, he’ll still be able to maintain a romantic connection.”
