Kurt Angle Had Neck Surgery: In a recent Kurt Angle Show Podcast episode, Kurt Angle discusses his neck surgery. To address concerns, he underwent neck surgery on April 11, 2003, under the care of Dr. Hae-Dong Jho.

Angle is an American former amateur wrestler and former professional wrestler. His tenure in WWE, in which he won multiple titles, including the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship, is what brought him the most notoriety.

Similar to his accomplishments at the Clarion University of Pennsylvania, he won multiple national championships. Then, he participated in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympics and earned a gold medal.

Angle began his professional wrestling career after the Olympics by joining WWE in 1998. In 1999, he won his first championship, the Intercontinental Championship, after quickly establishing himself as one of the finest wrestlers in the promotion.

After the operation, he was unable to wrestle for several months in order to recover. In 2004, he returned to the ring, but his neck issues continued, forcing extra surgical recuperation time.

In 2011, he underwent additional cervical neck surgery involving the implantation of a titanium plate and screws, the excision of a bulging disc and the removal of a bone spur.

Angle asserts that the operations have alleviated his pain, allowing him to continue working. Currently, he is thriving and living happily with his wife, Giovanna Yannotti, and children.

Update on Kurt Angle’s Illness and Health

Throughout his career, Kurt Angle has spoken about his struggles with addiction and alcoholism.

He has been forthright about his struggles with drug addiction, which he relates to his use of medications to relieve the suffering he endured after undergoing multiple neck surgeries.

In 2011, Angle sought therapy for alcohol and drug dependency. Additionally, he has addressed his struggles with anxiety and depression.

Angle has been attempting to overcome these obstacles and become sober since 2011. He has been candid about his struggles in an effort to help others in similar situations.

Alternatively, Angle never tested positive for drugs, but he failed a steroid test as required by the WWE Wellness Policy since his nandrolone prescription had expired.

Kurt Describes Brock Lesnar’s Neck Injury on the Kurt Angle Podcast.

In a recent podcast episode of The Kurt Angle Show, Angle discussed his third neck fracture. In late 2003, when Angle was training with Brock Lesnar, a steel chair was used, causing Angle to re-injure his neck.

A retired wrestler claims Brock Lesnar struck him in the head with a chair prior to delivering the chair.

He said, “When I say he brought it, I truly mean it. The issue is that Brock struck me and Chris Benoit with chairs that evening.

Before the fight, Chris advised Brock, “Hey, swing sideways on my head because I had neck surgery and I don’t want you to come over straight over the top.”
