One of the hallmarks of contemporary anime is the prominence of the isekai genre. In a fantastical world, there are a plethora of interesting stories waiting to be told about ordinary people. “Re: Zero,” “KonoSuba,” and “Overlord” are all isekai based on the desire to travel to another world, but each has a unique quality that sets them apart from the rest.
It was realized in 2019 that combining all of these anime (plus “The Saga of Tanya the Evil”) into one ensemble cast increases their value significantly. Peanut butter and jelly have been a winning combination for many years now. It’s important to remember the immense power of crossovers. As a result, the idea for the crossover series “Isekai Quartet,” featuring adorable chibi versions of some of anime’s most beloved isekai characters, was born.
“Isekai Quartet: Another World” will be a feature-length film based on the spinoff series, which has been a huge success. The third and final season is also nearing its conclusion. The third season has yet to be announced, but there is plenty of room for speculation despite the lack of concrete information. Here’s what we know about the third season of “Isekai Quartet” so far.
Is Season 3 of Isekai Quartet Coming Out Soon?
Season 3 of “Isekai Quartet” has yet to be released by the company behind the show, Studio Puyukai. But the upcoming “Isekai Quartet” film, which is scheduled for release in 2022, is likely to keep audiences excited. As reported by Anime News Network. In the run-up to and possibly after the premiere of the film, Season 3 will most likely be revealed to fans. Depending on when you read this, Season 3 could be released in the second half of the year 2023.
In the final episode of the season, the show’s creators did, in fact, confirm that there will be a third season (via Funimation). Even the series’ prior releases, which featured an approximately year-long break between Seasons 1 and 2, back up the expected release schedule. Only one episode can be released per year if “Isekai Quartet” is considered to be a separate season. Inevitably, things can go awry at any given time. However, until Studio Puyukai makes a statement to the contrary, it is safe to assume.
Season 3 of Isekai Quartet Features What Characters?
There were four isekai series featured in “Isekai Quartet’s” first season, so it was referred to as a “quartet.” Among these are “KonoSuba,” “Overlord,” “The Saga of Tanya the Evil,” and “Re: Zero” (Subaru, Emilia, Ram, and Rem). Several other characters from each show can be seen in various episodes as well, so far.
It’s still possible for the show to grow, despite having a large cast. With the addition of Naofumi and Raphtalia, the raccoon-lady companion from “The Rising of the Shield Hero,” the “Isekai Quartet” expands to a quintet in Season 2. Characters from the show “Cautious Hero” also make cameo appearances.
According to the previous additions, Season 3 has the potential to feature even more popular characters from the isekai world. Fans of “Jobless Reincarnation” and “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” would welcome the return of their favorite characters, but Studio Puyukai has not announced whether or not the cast will be expanded again.
What Does Will Happen in Isekai Quartet Season 3?
“Isekai Quartet” is a fun spinoff series that doesn’t have a single plot. Each of the heroes discovers a mysterious button that, when pressed, takes them to a new planet. At least half of their adventures take place in a high school. It’s for this reason that several installments of the show are heavily influenced by common anime tropes from high school.
They are preparing for their new school’s annual celebration in Season 2, exchanging Valentine’s cards, and stealing wine from their principal’s office to celebrate the holiday. When the entire cast reunites for Season 3, it’s reasonable to assume that similar shenanigans will ensue. No matter what happens, the antics of the “Isekai Quartet” gang are sure to be as amusing and upbeat as ever, a far cry from the depressing tales of their past realms of torment.
