Howard Stern Net Worth: How did Howard Stern become so wealthy?

American radio and television star Howard Stern hails from the United States. From 1986 through 2005, he hosted “The Howard Stern Show” on terrestrial radio, which was nationally syndicated. Howard quit “standard” radio on December 16, 2005.

Following this, he signed to a five-year, $500 million contract with Sirius Satellite Radio. On January 9, 2006, he launched his Sirius show. Since then, Howard has earned well over $1 billion from Sirius alone, as well as hundreds of millions from traditional radio.

On December 9, 2020, it was reported that Howard had signed a five-year contract with Sirius worth a total of $600 million, or $120 million per year.

When you hear that Howard “earns” $120 million annually, keep in mind that Stern uses the money from these contracts to finance all show production costs, including the wages of celebrities like as Robin Quivers and Gary Dell’Abate. It is estimated that Robin and Gary earn $10 million and $4 million year, respectively. By itself, this is worth $14 million.

If you conservatively estimate an additional $10 million to $15 million in expenses, Howard would have approximately $90 million before taxes and agency fees. Agents often take 10 percent, reducing the amount to approximately $80 million. Howard’s annual net income would be $40 million after taxes deducted from his annual revenues of $80 million.

The current schedule of three new episodes per week for forty weeks per year results in a total of 120 episodes every year. Based on 120 new shows per year and $40 million in net earnings, Howard Stern earns $333,333 per programme after all expenses. Every time he goes on the air, he receives a brand-new Ferrari.
