SpongeBob SquarePants has been one of the most popular kids’ shows for more than 20 years, and the yellow sea sponge’s influence has spread from TV to comics, movies, video games, and other places.
But fans of SpongeBob, who lives in a pineapple, have been shocked by a viral document that says SpongeBob and Plankton killed Mr. Krabs. The document says that SpongeBob and Plankton were responsible.
The document, called “The Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants,” explained how Mr. Krabs died violently and listed the evidence that links his death to several suspects.
People are talking about it again because some Twitter users told other people to look up Mr. Krabs’ mysterious death on the internet.
The Fake Rumor Blaming Spongebob for Mr. Krab’s Murder Has Gone Viral
The Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants looks like it could be a challenge for a class at school. The main document fans have seen is a two-page PDF with information about Mr. Krabs‘ death and a list of evidence and witness statements.
On its own, the document seems strange and even a little bit scary. But there is another version of the same document, an 11-page PDF with worksheets and instructions that say the class should be split into teams to work as the defense or the prosecution.
The goal of the activity seems to be to get students to ignore what they already know about the SpongeBob series and look at the evidence to figure out who killed Mr. Krabs.
How Did Mr. Krabs Die?
In the Trial of SpongeBob SquarePants document, Mr. Krabs’s throat has been cut and he is found dead in his Krusty Krab restaurant. The coroner said that the wound was made by a metal spatula, and a similar spatula covered in Mr. Krabs’ blood was found next to his body.
On the back of Mr. Krabs’ head, there were signs of a blow to the head. The floor of the Krusty Krab was also very slippery because it was covered with cooking grease. SpongeBob’s footprints were among the ones found in the grease, but they weren’t in the pool of Mr. Krabs’ blood.
There were no signs of a break-in at the restaurant, but the cash register at the Krusty Krab was empty, and the secret recipe for the Krabby Patty was missing from Mr. Krabs’ safe, which was found open. Mr. Krabs also had a small cut on one of his claws that had started to heal. This cut had happened a few weeks before.
Who Did Mr. Krabs Kill?
In the activity, it is up to the person taking the challenge to figure out who killed Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob’s guilt or innocence will be argued by the prosecution and defense teams. But if we look at the evidence for ourselves, we can see that there are several ways Mr. Krabs could have died.
He might have slipped on the floor and cut his throat by accident, but this doesn’t explain why the safe and cash register were empty. Plankton, who was always Mr. Krabs’ rival, is to blame here because he started selling burgers with a very similar recipe to the legendary Krabby Patty soon after Mr. Krabs died.
Plankton went to the bank and paid off the rest of SpongeBob’s house loan two days after he started selling the burgers. This made things even worse. The document also says that SpongeBob has never gotten a raise in all the years he has worked at the Krusty Krab, which has made him unhappy.
This could mean that SpongeBob and Plankton worked together to steal the Krabby Patty recipe, while Mr. Krabs’ death could have been an accident all along because of the slippery floor.
