Eternals How Many End Credits? Who is the Voice Heard During the Post-credits Scene?

Surprisingly, there are a handful of Eternals post-credits scenes to see while the audience nervously leaves the theatre.

The joke is on them; there are many reasons to stay. The Eternals’ post-credits scenes foreshadow the destinies of multiple characters and set up prospective spinoffs. Therefore, let’s jump right into them – and how they alter the MCU. First, these are the total number of post-credits scenes in Eternals.

How Many Post-credits Scenes Are There in Eternals?

There are two post-credits scenes in Eternals. The first one follows the typical dazzling credits sequence that lists the principal cast. The second one occurs approximately five minutes after the closing credits have concluded. Thereafter, you are free to go!

What Occurs in the Post-credits Sequences of Eternals? *SPOILERS*

Following are MAJOR Eternals spoilers. You are on notice!

In the first Eternals post-credits sequence, Druig, Thena, and Makkari ponder what to do now that Arishem has abducted their companions left on Earth at the conclusion of the film.

Then, someone who supposedly knows their location unexpectedly appears: Eros (Harry Styles), Thanos’s brother, also known as Starfox. He is accompanied by Pip the Troll (Patton Oswalt). It is unclear where they will all go next, but Starfox is along for the voyage and, at least temporarily, will join the Eternals in their search for Arishem.

In the second post-credits scene, Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman opens a box containing a sword. Even the Latin description is foreboding, translating to “Death is my prize.”

This does not deter Dane, who declares, “I have to try” and approaches the blade. Just before he does so, a voice asks, “Mr. Whitman, are you certain you’re ready for that?”

In case there was ever any doubt, there is also confirmation that “The Eternals will return.”

Eternals Post-credits: How They Positioned the MCU For the Future

These post-credits scenes total approximately one minute, but there is still a great deal to explore.

First and foremost, Harry Styles has joined the MCU. Eros/Starfox is an Eternal, and his comic book background suggests that he may not be on the straight and narrow, having previously clashed with She-Hulk. In addition, he possesses a mind-control ability that can amplify people’s emotions and even make them fall in love with Eros.

Right now? He undoubtedly desires to locate Arishem as much as Thena and her companions do. Nothing has been confirmed, but he could play a significant role if a sequel to Eternals is ever produced. Eros could also become an opponent in the future, should the MCU require another godlike being to be vanquished.

Thankfully, the second post-credits sequence provides Dane Whitman with direction. As most comic book readers are aware, he is destined for so much more than a supporting role in the Eternals.

By the conclusion of Eternals, he discovers his “family history,” and the last scene reveals that it is the Ebony Blade. It is perhaps one of the most potent in the MCU. In the comics, it renders its wielder, the Black Knight, invulnerable and capable of slicing through anything.

It seems inevitable that Dane and the Ebony Blade will eventually meet. Whether that will be through a separate Disney Plus series — we’d kill for a Black Knight six-parter – or an upcoming MCU film is unknown.

Who is the Voice Heard During the Post-credits Scene?

The other mystery is the voice warning Dane from off-screen. Director Chloé Zhao has disclosed the true identify of the person, and it belongs to Mahershala Ali’s Blade. She told Fandom, “That was the voice of one of my favourite superheroes, Mr. Blade himself.” “Blade, Blade, Blade, yay!”

“I don’t know what they’re doing with the movie, but Mahershala Ali is a treasure,” she said, unable to provide specifics about the character’s future solo film. It will be an epic event.”

Harington, who is now anticipated to star in the upcoming Blade film, also commented on Blade’s inclusion in the MCU: “It’s pretty cool. A few of weeks ago, [Chloé] texted me about this, and it kind of blew my mind. I had no idea that would be the case, therefore I find it quite thrilling.”

Thus, one newcomer and one Eternals cast member are on their way to greater and better things. Expect Eros and Dane Whitman to be key players in the MCU beyond Marvel Phase 4 and into the future.
