What Will Happen in Demon Slayer Season 3?

The plot of season three will be based on the ninth arc of the original manga, which is called the “Swordsmith Village” arc. It’s important to note that the Demon Slayer manga ended in 2020. This gives anime fans a unique chance to find out (roughly) what the future holds for Tanjiro and the rest of the group.

The Swordsmith Village arc starts right after the Entertainment District arc, which ended with Tanjiro and Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui beating the demon siblings Gyutaro and Daki.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Release Date

The only thing that was lost for good in this epic battle was Tanjiro’s sword that could kill demons. In the third season of Demon Slayer, Tanjiro will go to the Swordsmith Village to have Hotaru Haganezuka fix his sword.

There, Tanjiro and his friends will have to deal with a lot of demons (including a Upper Rank Six that splits themselves across multiple bodies). Mist Hashira’s friend Muichiro Tokito steps in to take care of the thread, which is lucky.

When Can We Expect Demon Slayer Season 3 to Be Released?

We haven’t heard anything official yet, but season 3 of Demon Slayer is likely to come out in the next year, maybe in the beginning or middle of 2023. We had hoped that Fall 2022 would be a real possibility, but now that COVID is in place, that seems impossible. If that’s the case, a release in Winter or Spring (2023, January–April) or Fall (2023, September–October) could be planned.

But despite that, Ufotable’s work is usually very consistent. The first season of Demon Slayer came out in the fall of 2019, and the Mugen Train movie will come out in the fall of 2020. In the fall of 2021, the Mugen Train recap arc of Demon Slayer started to air on TV. Demon Slayer’s run of consecutive Fall debuts could end, but if anyone can do the impossible, it’s Ufotable.

Some footage from the movie is in the new trailer, which shows that production has been going well, but there’s still no release date in sight. We can hope for Fall 2022, but at this point, 2023 is much more likely.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Trailer

In April 2022, Crunchyroll and the production company Ufotable put out the first trailer for the third season (sort of).

It’s hard to say it’s a trailer, though, because it’s mostly just a recap of the show so far, showing you the best parts of seasons one and two.

The most interesting thing is that some key (old) footage of the Mist and Love Hashiras, who will be important in the third season, is included.

If we assume that the third season of Demon Slayer will start in late 2023, we can expect to see a full trailer in June 2023. This is based on what happened in the previous two seasons.

How to Watch Demon Slayer Online?

Crunchyroll now has Demon Slayer for you to watch. We think that Demon Slayer season 3 will do the same and be available to stream on that site, especially since Funimation just merged with that site. In some places, the first season is already ready to stream on Netflix.
