Stargirl is almost done with its run. The CW’s DC show will end on December 7 with the finale of its third season, which is still going on. People have been talking about the show going off the air for a long time, and now the creators have confirmed the rumors.

Since Nexstar bought The CW, a long list of scripted shows has been taken off the air. This show is the most recent one to be pulled. Read on to find out more about what’s going on.

Dc’s Stargirl to End With Season 3

Geoff Johns, the show’s creator, made the announcement in a statement on Monday. He said that they knew the show might end after the third season, so they wrote the ending to reflect that.

“Stargirl has always been important to me for a lot of reasons. We knew this could be Stargirl’s last season because of all the changes going on at the network, so we wrote with that in mind. “I think this is the best season of Stargirl yet, with complete creative closure,” Johns said in a statement.

He also said, “The cast and crew are amazing, and I’d like to thank them for helping me make this show happen.” Brec was Courtney in every way — with grace, strength, and humor — and he went above and beyond my wildest hopes.

“I’m thankful that WBTV and The CW gave us a place to tell this story and honor my late, much-loved sister. I’m also very grateful to the press and fans who have always supported us for three great seasons. Most shows don’t make it this far. We couldn’t be happier with our show and the fans it has brought together!” Johns came to an end.

Lead Actress Brec Bassinger Responds

Brec Bassinger, who portrays Stargirl, has commented on the program’s cancellation. Bassinger remarked, “It has been the greatest honor to portray Stargirl and be a part of the DC Universe, and I am so grateful for every moment of it.”

“I’d want to extend my gratitude to our fearless commander Geoff Johns, as well as to WBTV, The CW, the Stargirl cast and crew, and of course, the audience. I’m grateful. I will always cherish this show, she continued.

In 2020, Stargirl had her digital debut on DC Universe, followed by a broadcast run on The CW. With the second season, the program made a permanent transition to The CW after the streaming service was shut down. The show received a third season renewal from the network in May 2021.
