In December of 2018, he announced that he had been admitted to Harvard University and will enrol there in the fall of 2019. Hogg earned his diploma with a weighted GPA of 4.20 and a SAT score of 1270.

Never Again MSD is a movement for change initiated by students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (MSD). He has led a number of notable demonstrations, marches, and boycotts. Multiple conspiracy theories and right-wing charges have exploited him as a scapegoat and victim.

On June 5, 2018, an unknown caller reported to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office a bogus hostage scenario at the Hogg family residence. Hogg, various media outlets, and the sheriff’s office all referred to the swatting harassment strategy as a fake.
