Dark Desire, Netflix’s most steamy drama, comes back with Season 2 after a long hiatus. Dark Desire, Leticia López Margalli’s romantic thriller for Netflix, has returned this week. It’s an original Spanish sensual thriller telenovela. It’s chock-full of betrayals, hookups, and surprise twin brothers, which are a mainstay of telenovelas everywhere.
Both fans and critics appreciated the show after the premiere of Season 1 in 2020. It immediately became Netflix’s most popular non-English show. Critics praised the film’s high production value and complex plot. The spectator is kept captivated by the guilty pleasure element, as well as plenty of bawdy lovemaking moments.
Release Date for Dark Desire Season 3
Netflix released the entire second season of Dark Desire on February 2, 2022. There are 15 short episodes in the second season, ranging in length from 32 to 40 minutes. Let’s talk about the possibility of a third season. Following the first season’s enormous success, Netflix renewed the series for a second season on August 19, 2020.
The fact that the second season will be the series’ final installment was also disclosed. However, in cases where the show is immensely popular, the viewers’ opinions are crucial. As a result, we can’t rule out the potential of a third season of Dark Desire, especially if fans demand it.
Furthermore, at the end of the second season, a few loose ends keep us curious about the third season. There is still a chance of a return, though it is unlikely. After all, if a tremendous response results in miraculous developments, Dark Desire Season 3 may be on the way and will be release in 2023.
Plot of Dark Desire Season 2
The plot of the second season picks up right where the first one left off. Alma, who is now to live with her parents, is distraught and attempting to reclaim her life. Her university job has been taken away from her, her marriage to Leonardo has ended in divorce, and she is estranged from her daughter Zoe.
Alma is head over heels in love with Dario and sees him everywhere, and his image haunts her dreams. She enrolls in a women’s counselling program, where she meets Lys, a mysterious middle-aged woman with her own secret. Dario flies to Mexico with his freshly obtained inheritance to marry Julieta, his true love.
His restored romance with Alma, on the other hand, turns their lives upside down. As truths from Dario’s past come to light, his fiancée Julieta passes away in tragic circumstances. Alma now has to decide between reimagining a future with Dario, as she had always wished, and accepting the truth and doing the right thing.
Cast of Dark Desire Season 2
For this season of Dark Desire, several of the regulars from Season 1 have returned. Similarly to Season 1, Maite Perroni reprises her role as law professor Alma Solares, with Jorge Poza reprising his role as her judge husband Leonardo Solares. Esteban, Leonardo’s brother, is played by Erik Hayser, and Leonardo’s daughter, Zoe, is played by Regina Pavón.
Brenda Castillo was played by Mara Fernanda Yepes, Edith Ballesteros was played by Paulina Matos, and Dario Guerra was played by Alejandro Speitzer. Speitzer also starred in the Netflix crime drama The Club.
For Season 2, three new characters have been added to the cast: Colombian actress Catherine Siachoque plays Lys Antoine, Ariana Saavedra plays Julieta Lazcano, and Arturo Barba plays igo Lazcano.
What Can We Expect From Season 3 of Dark Desire?
If a third season is made, it is possible that it may continue the plot after Dario’s conviction and document the ramifications. Dario may be able to elude capture and end up on Alma’s trail.
We still don’t know what Esteban’s position is, and a third season could provide more information. We may also learn more about Esteban’s relationship with Lucinda, as well as whether Dario is Esteban’s son.
