This Black Friday, Meta Quest 2 will be available in a cheap package that includes two acclaimed VR games.
As part of the forthcoming Black Friday season, a limited-time reduced bundle is available for the Meta Quest 2 VR headset. In addition to a price reduction from its regular MSRP, the bundle will include two acclaimed VR games with each purchase at participating retailers. The sale will commence on November 18 and remain as long as stocks last.
This bundle arrives shortly after the launch of Meta Quest Pro on October 25 and the release of Meta’s quarterly financial report the following day. The same study contained information about the next generation of Meta Quest headsets. The Meta Quest Pro has a significantly higher price point and a greater emphasis on mixed reality, whereas the Quest 2 is designed for consumers seeking a VR headset for leisure and gaming.
This Friday, the next bundle will be available for $349.99 for the 128 GB device and $429.99 for the 256 GB model. One of the two games included in the bundle will be the recently updated VR rhythm game Beat Saber, which has continued to receive new song packs based on popular music artists. The other game included is Resident Evil 4’s highly acclaimed VR edition. The bundle is available for purchase on Meta’s website and through participating retailers like Amazon, GameStop, and Walmart.
Beat Saber was formerly bundled with new Meta Quest 2 orders bought between August 1 and December 31, 2022. Despite being nearly four years old, Beat Saber has continued to gain new users and get upgrades, prompting the announcement of this discounted package. This sustained success can be ascribed to the game’s player base, which keeps the game active, as well as the modding community, whose inventiveness and efforts to make the game more accessible have contributed to its enduring appeal.
This reduced collection is consistent with Meta’s previous efforts to promote the Quest brand as a home for AAA titles from major publishers. This was demonstrated following the recent October Meta Connect event. Skydance Interactive launched a new game titled Behemoth following the event. Although it was not specifically stated that the content was exclusive to the platform, its prominence following the incident is remarkable.
Although it is not the only VR headset on the market, the Meta Quest 2 remains a popular option for gamers seeking a VR experience. PC rivals such as the Valve Index offer VR experiences, but at a higher price range and with more equipment requirements. With the release of the PS VR2 on February 22, 2023, VR will be made available to PS5 owners, but at a higher cost. Meta Quest 2 will almost certainly get new users throughout the Black Friday season.
The forthcoming Meta Quest 2 package will be available on November 18, 2022.
