40 Years Young: Is A Fantastic Film That Everyone Should See?

César, portrayed by Eric Elias, is a chef who competes in a cooking competition with his best friend and business partner Paolo (Adam Ramones).

It is a contest filled with anticipation and enthusiasm until César’s personal life is rocked by a series of shocking events that threaten his participation in the tournament. The contest itself is enveloped in anticipation and excitement.

40 Years Young Plot

It’s not often that one encounters a film that is both colourful and lifeless, but 40 Years Young is precisely that. It is bright, vibrant, and fairly fluffy, yet its broad, sweeping brushstrokes prevent it from ever possessing genuine depth.

It’s unfortunate since much of the film had wonderful intentions, but because it never really gave you a chance to focus on these elements, the film turned out to be undercooked.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this influenced the way that many of the characters and their actions were written, as the film as a whole was very ephemeral and whimsical; it influenced the writing.

I believe that even if the plot of 40 Years Young were about something that even remotely resembled the deep end of a swimming pool, there are moments in the film that are so bizarre and rushed — almost as if they were still just bullet points on a script outline — that they would rip you right out of the film, completely shattering any illusion that what you are watching is real.

There is so much in 40 Years Young that is utterly absurd. The narrative was extremely simplistic, which brings me back to my initial critique, which is that the film did not devote sufficient time to investigating and analysing any of the topics it glossed over.

However, It Is Easily Forgotten.

Despite 40 Years Young is a relatively forgettable and short-lived record, despite the fact that it contains these flaws. In terms of both the viewer’s perspective and the critical stance, I was left with little impact.

It is almost astounding how little words I have to describe the film. In most circumstances, regardless of the overall quality of a film’s production, it will present its viewers with a number of debatable points.

With 40 Years Young, it’s as if I haven’t watched anything at all, which, although harmless in the sense that I’m not angry by what I’ve just seen, is in some ways worse because it had almost no effect on me. Frustratingly unproductive is the fact that it has not generated much of a response of any kind.

I cannot suggest 40 Years Young under any circumstances. It’s not a terrible film, but you won’t care about any of the characters or the plot by the time it’s finished, so you might as well avoid it.

It has the feel of one of those Lifetime movies that are produced for television in ordtohousewives’ and husbands’ companionship during the day, but contribute nothing to dinnertime talk.

Do yourself a favour and avoid the film 40 Years Young, as it is not the type of film that will inspire you to discuss it with your friends for any reason.
